What is Airsoft?
Airsoft is a game in which participants eliminate opponents by hitting each other with spherical non-metallic pellets fired from a compressed-air gun (or airsoft gun) powered by gas, manual spring-load, or electrically powered gearbox.
For young people, the airsoft guns used are made of plastic, or a combination of metal and plastic, and they may be replicas of real firearms, or look like unrealistic toys. This type of airsoft gun does not shoot as far or as hard as the airsoft milsim guns made for adults, and many are single shot guns (non rapid fire).
Young people already play airsoft in your neighborhood, perhaps in their back yard, or in woods nearby. There may even be adults that play with them.
It is against the law for anyone under the age of 18 to purchase any type of airsoft gun. All airsoft guns are required to have an orange-tipped barrel to identify it as such.
